Many people think that fast and quick mean the same thing, but the words do differ slightly in meaning. Fast is used especially to describe a person or thing that moves, or is able to move, at great speed.
Here are two examples: Superman is faster than a speeding bullet! This racing car is fast – it can reach speeds of 360 km/h.
Quick is more often used to describe something that is done in a short time, or without delay.
Here are two examples: The train is leaving in one minute. Be quick, or you will miss it! When the burning log rolled out of the fire, the girl was quick to jump back.
